Blender 3.2 alpha released.

How come blender improves at a faster rate than industry standart software?

Anonymous No. 881120

It gets updated a lot but they keep on doing minor new shit instead of things that actually matter like improving performance.

I'd much rather Blender just chill out at a stable release for a long time and get a good update a year from now, rather than this incremental bullshit where you have new bugs here and there, and things that worked in 3.0 don't work on 3.0.3, but work on 3.0.45 alpha release 2.

Idk about that, check out Zbrush update videos showcasing new features. Every time it looks like magic.

new alpha? more like new cringe

Anonymous No. 881416

Honestly, I wish someone would make a dedicated opensource sculpting software. Zbrush is becoming the bottleneck corporations can still grab us for.

This desu.
The problem with FOSS is that we depend too much on Blender doing everything.
Problem is this is a big project to put together.
It won't happen as long as we just want "someone" to do it.

because industry soft already has most of the features that blender has, if theres nothing to change/add then better leave it alone

I don't think you understand how semantic versioning works.
https://semver.org/

Anonymous No. 882365

>>882232
Blender does not use semantic versioning, it's on a fixed cycle. And basically every release is a breaking release from the semver pov.

they switched to semver recently
