the stated goals of the bf are not to make great software for advanced users, but indeed to make 3d accessible to as many people as possible, the fact they're stepping back from the vfx reference platform and godawful ideas like that asset creation pipeline that focused on "Interactivity" over performance and options should be all you need to know that as an advanced user it's time to keep your eyes open for alternatives.
