Where does /3/ currently stand on 3DCoat?
They recently had a UI overhaul and added a wide array of functionality to the software like polymodeling. Has anyone checked it out? Is it worth learning in the current year for independent projects?

Do not. I repeat, do NOT do anything naughty modeling on 3DCoat or the dev are gonna knock at your door and fuck you up

i had to roll back to last update before the ui fix, something they did to the texture algorithm that it messes up my pipeline.

Was the UI overhaul worth it?

Just grabbed Textura and haven't fucked around with it.
Looking around the software though, I'm supposed to use it just like how I'd use Painter, right? Like I can jump right in from Painter without any real learning-curve?

If you know the pbr workflow pretty good moving shouldn't be a problem, I only used it a little but it feels shitty maybe I been using painter to long but I didn't like it. it's free so whatever
