what's the point of sculpting when modelling can produce as good or better anime girls with less effort than zbrush?

Cris, why do you have to be such an asshole? You got an explanation in another thread, ignored it, as always, and now you're opening the same thread again and you're acting like you still have no idea why people sculpt high poly objects and characters.
Seriously fuck you and fuck this place, schizos like you ruined it completely, everybody left, /3/ is dead.

You're still an asshole whoever you are. Spamming with the same type of question for months, if not years at this point. I don't care how much you deny it, even if this is your first time here, you still opened a shitty pointless thread when there are stupid questions thread AND multiple separate threads with the same question as this one already existing.

Sculptors suffer from sculptor brain. A sculptor would sculpt a million-poly sphere and retopo it by hand just to add an eyeball to a model

this. i keep seeing them larp about sculpting 'replacing' all modelling. they have no brain outside of anatomy and basic composition

How is it less effort? Pushing and pulling polygons by hand is way tedious than sculpting with a brush.

has this board always been this schizophrenic?

It has been like this for like a year already. I keep reporting these threads, but mods rarely do anything. One or a handful of schizos / trolls have ruined the experience completely, and it's not like /3/ was ever very good in the first place.

Hard surface modeling is the most autistic part of 3d..

If you don’t both sculpt and subd model, you’re the one with the lack of both artistic talent and skills. Imagine attacking people for sculpting, which is a normal part of 3d workflow lol.

Okay modeling expert, model me any kind of organic shape made from wood or stone materials and see how it goes. P.S. all details have to be in geo because it has to hold up close.
Have fun modeling individual wood grains and tiny holes in stone!

This is interesting because I basically do polymodel to block, then retopo, sculpt and then retopo again if needed.

Sculpting (including dyntopo and remesh techniques), modeling, retopoing, texturing, and shading are all parts of a normal 3D workflow. You are crippling yourself for no reason if you don't get good at all of them and have the ability to reach for any or all of them as the situation calls for it.
There's literally no reason to not have all these tools in your toolbox. It's the worst mentality to look down on somebody for knowing how to do something that you don't.
