Any recommendations and any opinion on pic related. It's expensive as fuck but I'm fucking tired of video course/tutorials and want something I can read outside since the weather is getting warmer.

I really thought they have stopped making 3D books because internet and YT tutorials and so on. I have all the old New Riders 3DS MAX books from the 90s.

A lot of people are talking/sharing these 90's 3D books but why would you if they're obviously outdated?

is there a PDF version of this book?

OP here, there must be but I ended up buying it for 65$. It's not really worth it. It covers perfecctly what you need to know as a beginner and it has exercices so I don't regret my purchase + videos you can download online but I'm pretty there are online course that are a better learning resource.

Would you advise to read these magazine to anyone (By that I mean non 3DS users)? An other phrasing to this question would be: Is there anything in these that could serve a modern general 3D artist?

Uhmm no. Max or Maya books are really specific and are generally only useful if you are using that software. There were some general 3D books that are software agnostic like on principles of lighting etc.
