What do you usually do to make skin look more like skin?

Add multiple layers of fake iridecent reticulation to provide the appearance of a complex substructure subtly shining thru.

you need a good model to base off of, I suggest finding a woman with good skin and taking a sample home with you.

You need diffuse and normal maps as minimum, normal maps will/can give skin bumps to your model.

You can add specular and roughness maps for more details, I.e. skin shine
