Probably Blender since it's free. Its default control scheme is a little perplexing especially to people who have experience with other software. I'd suggest the industry standard control scheme.

But at the end of the day you can customise it to whatever works best to you.

I think Blender is definitely the best for beginners, since it being free means it can be downloaded on a whim, and it won't be a waste of money if the beginner ends up deciding that they don't actually like 3d modeling. There's also more tutorials for Blender, so it's easier for a beginner to learn universal 3d modeling concepts.

3ds Max, Blender or Maya to learn the fundamentals, but if you want to go the 3D modeling pro, Zbrush + Maya retopology is the way to go.
Fusion360 would be more suited if you wanna model for CAD based or STL for 3D printers

Hi I am an ambassador for Blender™ and I was hoping you would consider using Blender™ as your 3D software package of choice! My name is Alice, and I am a transwoman who has recently discovered her feminine side, and I really think the community at Blender™ would be great for you. Not only does Blender have excellent tools to use at your disposal, we also are Trans LGBQAWP++ positive! If you are transgender as well I can invite you to the official Blender Discord. Dilation times start at 2PM EST and 8PMGMT-8. You'll be able to discuss any problems you have with the official staff of Blender™ while we all dilate on camera mode! Isn't that awesome?! :)

Hope to see you there!

Blender, unquestionably. If anyone recommends anything else ask them to post render. They won't.

Anything but blender, just pirate other software (i recommend Houdini) and the only thing Blender has going for it, the fact that it is free, disappears.

/3/ is a blendlet board and 90% of people will recommend that because it's free. For learning basic workflows I'd recommend rocket3f and then move to blender if you feel that toolset is limiting you. It has built in bridge to Blender so you don't have problems transfering your previous work. One thing that scare people most is the UI, but rocket3f has a simple one. Oh, and it's free as well.

yes blender is the best but you will be competing with /beg/ modellers posting their first work on discord and saying they are proud of it which makes me cringe. You need to transition away from blender ASAP and learn big daddy Maya and get access to cgpeers at all cost. You will never look at Blender ever again after this.

Is Houdini actually good for modeling?

Anonymous No. 899581

>>899580
No. It's infuriating because it's 90% there in terms of tools but the autist leafs will never fix the shit UX, still tons of clicking inside networks. Plus viewport and selection bugs, you'll be hitting escape a lot.
