It is definetly not too much for rendering purposes, but you are making stuff like editing the mesh, unwrapping, weight painting and doing modular parts more complex, which are some of the advantages of working in low poly. I would definetly dissolve the loops going all around the torso, and then add some loops with poles around the breasts. And if you can't be bothered, you can just use triangles to add and collapse the extra geometry you need in the chest, instead.
