It's influenced and modeled after Softimage and had the right amount of shortcuts before going full retard with them

2.79 didn't have the OIDN denoiser so it definitely wasn't the peak.

Based, I got both latest and 2.79 installed.
For me 2.79 is when I started using Blender more than other software and when going back to try out 2.79 I also feel like I get stuff done more quickly and also I know all the shortcuts.

99% certain that 2.8+ has the 2.79 hotkeys as a separate option. Enabling that and spending a week or two to get used to the rest of the UI will make you not want 2.79 ever again. You can even change the theme to make it look like 2.79 too if you're that big of a sperg.

Because less people know how to use it, we are special, we don't need all those people making blender popular, that just ruins things.

Yes. I too enjoy using a version of the software with substantially fewer features than the latest release. Collections and the ease of instancing alone warrant the upgrade over 2.79. Layers where a total meme.

It's the last version of blender that was fucking trash so it's some kind of peak I guess
