i'm an industry pro (working in the industry professionally) we simply take the polygon count (in this case, 100k), and then compare that to texture resolution. we need the 5:1 maths ratio for the model to be of quality. also, consider how the parametric bone modelling takes into account. we can do this by taking our face count and dividing by the number of bones. simply add more bones if the number isnt good.
