Where can I commission someone to make a super detailed 3D-printable model of this character? Willing to go as high as $150 for a good quality model.

I'm completely serious

If you're requesting something to be made from scratch you're looking at way more than $150, especially if you want something good. $50 won't get you shit except some shitty MMD model.

Did you know that in online communities like Vrchat, there are plenty of people who make these for free? I’m not paying you for your expertise (because let’s face it, anyone could make something like this), im paying for your time commitment. Im sure Neets like you have a lot of time to burn

Very few people do high quality models for free. Booth models go for $60 and up. If there's no good model of what you want, too bad. Find someone and commision them for a model, and they will be asking for more than $150.
>I’m not paying you for your expertise (because let’s face it, anyone could make something like this)
Then do it yourself if it is so easy.

I work in IT at one of the biggest companies in Europe. Im currently on local leave till Friday. Most of my free time is either spent studying for my CCNA or taking care of my 2 dogs. On weekends, I hang out with friends and colleagues. Unlike you lot, I don’t have any time for myself.

This is an easy job. I’m giving you an opportunity to make more money than you can ever make in a week. You can leave if you’re gonna waste more of my time

And the seller would be selling it more than one time. If I sculpted your model and listed it somewhere for $50, I would be hoping to sell it more than once and make at least a few thousand off it. If you want a $50 model, go there.

But you want a custom model designed to your specs, specifically for your use. That means I'm selling it once. Alright, then you have to cover the amount of money I would normally make selling it to a few dozen people.

>Vrchat, there are plenty of people who make these for free

Yes, and Vrchat models are low-detail, low-poly models that are trash for printing. You get what you pay for.

150 dollar is nothing for what you're requesting, any artist capable of work on that level would cost you multiples of that.

Only way you can sell work that cheap is if you sell it to multiple people. That's why models that get downloaded a handful times on stock 3D sites can be priced like that.

If someone approached me thru the proper channels $1000 would be closer to what my time is worth to me. Then you'd have to pay the weeb tax ontop of that to motivate me not to do something else instead.

Not OP, I just want to know: say I'm a 3D artist and I have a statue all sculpted up in zbrush, of the weeb kind like the one he wants. I want to sell it on a place like sketchfab. I can put the source files up so the buyer can do as he pleases with them, but they'd have to find a way to make it printable themselves.
How much should I sell such a statue for? Assuming it took a couple of weeks of daily, about two hours a day work.

Just learn to sculpt, brah.
I promise it's not that hard if you're smart about it, and you could just add your pic's details over a Build Divers kit like the Diver Nami if you're not that demanding on the accuracy.
You could even learn how to make decals and give her whatever face details you want.

that's a pretty low price considering ill have to prototype it to make sure its printable while retaining details.
i'm assuming you are using the cheapest 3d printer you could buy right? or did you want it printed professionally?
do you want it to be on a base or freestanding because that will increase the price further
if its a base that may involve building a stand as well, depending on how you want it posed. this will cost you extra as well
alternatively you could get someone on fiver to pose an mmd model for you that wont print properly or stand on its own for $150

LMAO $150?

I don't even want to recommend anywhere that might be unfortunate enough to have to deal with you. You're going to end up finding some poor student artist, they'll take the job and give you a shitty result. You'll end up asking for revision after revision because you won't even know the requirements to get something 3d printed. You'll feel ripped off because you won't get what you want, and then you'll have scammed some kid out of their work.

Assuming you are serious, good luck with that budget. I got some time ago a model from an old hentai anime for 250 and had to spent another 150 for some adjustments and proper modifications for 3D printing. All this was on the cheap side anyways since proper models go from 1000 and beyond.

If bait, nice one. Go neck yourself now.

Don't worry OP it's not unheard of for you to find someone willing to make you that model for what you're looking for. However, as the other anons have said...it's very unlikely. Better chance of winning the lottery, and being struck by lightning at the same time kinda lucky.

I know someone that paid $100-$200 for a couple of scratch models that turned out looking really good. That's each time of course. However, with that said...they were extremely lucky to find someone to do it for that price.

Sure, i did the first part with this artist https://www.cgtrader.com/juliancruzart. Sadly he stopped at 50% ish completion, he didn't answer my emails and and had to do the remaining % with another one https://www.cgtrader.com/danielign15. The 2nd artist pretty much did the model from scratch and i contacted a 3rd one for some adjustments for 3D printing https://www.instagram.com/mazmorra_studio/ (this last one have A LOT of experience modeling, he have some really cool Mass Effect models) This 3rd artist does commissions but it's expensive, 2000 and more.

I suggest that you look up on CGTrader artists and contact them for a commission. The first time, i posted a public request and got flooded with answers, none of them looking decent. Just try to be very clear with your request to avoid bad workflow, videos, screencaps and so on are very helpful to artists.

I've seen some charge 3000 for anime models. But I think that's just plain ridiculous.

Anonymous No. 919998

Well, let give you some idea of price. I talked to people that work for the collectibles industry(I also sculpt, btw) and the price for one of those statues, let's say kotubukya or prime 1, starts at 2k. So if you want to pay 50 USD, expect something really, really simples. If was going to sculpt for you, a model like that with a cool base, I would at least 1k. Check miniac video on YouTube. He commissioned a miniature and the guys sked for 1,2k. So think about it...

All those prices are in USD btw
