I remember being inspired by Arc System works GGXrd conference like 10 years ago.
So, today I can confirm I've used my blender and 2D and 3D skillset I've gained since them, to produce a much much cheaper style, that seems to be like 80% of Arcsys quality, but I think produces better imitation of 2D, in some details.
Taking into account pic related took around 6 hours of work from scratch, I'm pretty happy It gives a similar result to Arc sys (in the sense It imiates properly 2D look) but clearly without months of hard work.
As such, is a cheaper imitation, but one suited to indie game developers budget, who clearly lacks million in terms of skill and money.
So far, I'm extremelly happy with this workflow, but I clearly need to fix some issues, like finding a cheap way to create the hair details of anime hair strands by maybe drawing some hair strands as SVG in Inkscape then importing as SVG and converting as mesh.
Tomorrow will test that idea.
Also, grease pencil could help me with making inner lines, but I think a simpler HD texture with lines and alpha set to mix shaders could do the trick.
Made with Krita and Blender and aseprite and a sprite sheet addon.

I likely need smaller strenght, but I am unable now to run this AI using free collab tier, so I'm not sure if Invest in another month and try to recoup my money with some CGI gallery on DLSite.

ok, my idea seems to provide interesting results, since I only have to use my render as reference to photobash using concept art techniques a more developed anime reference I then simply quickly just trace into a finished colored sketch.

This actually creates quality results to me, but likely at just less mental effort than doing this picture from scratch.
Also I can simply then rotate and quickly edit the render and do a bunch of test with the 3D, to quickly have the perfect reference material before putting my hand into the expensive 2D step.

Honestly, I think the face and eyes got something right, so it shows the path is right for a proper exploration of the method.
Sure, it needs fixing, but such an early attemp was sucesful.
The side bangs, sure, they are fine.
What it totally failed was the front hair strands.
Seems the front hair bangs suffer from the same issues of the eyes.
They can't be faked with 3D, so I assume a card system can get them right.
Also sidebangs in the face would maybe need a similar system, and using some combination of hand crafted movements and likely some rigged ones.
Will make another test with these new ideas.
