Now maya is not a subcription, neither the other autodesk tools.
They have replaced their old subscription model with a token system from videogame arcades.
You can now buy 300 tokens pack or more.
Opening Maya now cost 6 tokens per use.
>mfw not an autodesk loser
fucking loser, lmao.

They have had this for two years. This works out cheaper as you only purchase the app tokens for when you need it.

This token system is extremely cheap for rotating workstations being using a whole day

Maya costs 6 (six) tokens per 24h and 1 (one) token is worth 3 (three) $ (United States Dollars).

At $36/day, it's around $8000/year (assuming a standard work year of 220 days) which is roughly 4x the price of a subscription. It's only worth it if you use Maya/Max less than 25% of the time.
Also kek, I didn't know Autodesk DCC subscriptions were an eye-watering 2k/year, I remember that being the price you paid to own them flat out, not what you had to pay every year lmao.

Nobody runs a studio like a factory with 3 8-hour shifts, though.

You're right, they need to triple the price; they're leaving money on the table

Some studios do. If not, they will. With this method you can for get 3 workers day cost for just one.
Its better for remote working and dumbs workstation though
>>918575
You dont get it. This is good for studios working for example no more than 2 days a week. This way the promote to use their products rather than alternatives like Blender.

?????
How does a regular Maya license not work the same exact way? Your license doesn't shut down after 8 hours of use.

I hate the working class. Any nerd should. Why does 4kun pretends it likes the people who called them faggots all through high school and their job for liking anime?
