๐Ÿงต Question about hardware.

Anonymous No. 922609

Im comoketly iliterate when it comes to hardware so I have a question I need heko with. Does gearing your pc for 3d modeling/rendering also improve it for gaming? What Im basicaly asking is, can I do both on one pc or is it better two split it between 2 pcs?

In most cases, yes.
RAM is useful in both.
There are some GPUs specifically made for render farms (or other VRAM intensive tasks like AI) which would be slower in gaming when compares to stuff like 4090, but you most probably don't need them unless you are dealing with heavy simulation work. You can stick with 'normal' cards here.
For CPUs, there is a difference. Gaming benefits from high single core performance (like newest Intel products), while rendering would be better on something with a lot of cores, like Threadripper / Epyc.
To sum it up: Unless you are doing a heavy professional work, there is nothing wrong with building a gaming PC.

you wont be doing any gaming if you want to get into this industry, even as a hobbyist. Get over it

I'm not OP, just clarifying that you talk nonsense. "Getting into industry as a hobbyist", lmao.

So in other words, plenty of time for gaming.

Yes, the PC's that create the games are better than the PC's that just run the game.

wtf, OP...

if you think writing cutting edge 3d libraries = time for the sad excuse for entertainment that is gaming you just need to shut the fuck up

Hobbyists usually don't write cutting edge 3D libraries. You also aren't writing one right now, but instead opt to sperg out like a retard.
