How do I paint textures over a model in Blender?
No, I'm not talking about painting with simple colors to make one texture, I'm talking about painting WITH various different textures (instead of simple colors) over a single model.
Hard mode: with MORE than just 2 textures.

P.S.: also, why in the world are materials/textures so fucking convoluted in Blender? Everything else is so intuitive so why is this not? Is it the same in other 3D modeling programs?

Blender lends itself more towards using procedural textures and weight maps.
The problem with that is of course is reduces render times so much that almost nobody does that.

Yeah it's extremely complex, thankfully my IQ of 80 allows me to accomplish seemingly impossible feats of blender engineering.

>all of that shit just because the devs were too lazy to make a Mix with more than 2 shader slots

Just make a node group.
