apart from the stick creature itself the whole thing is really well done, both on a technical level and in terms of film making style. dudes got a big future ahead of him, and its definitely a great example of style and skill trumping budget, and how you can do a lot with a very basic premise and model set if its done well

I think the premise of being lost in a Blame-esque hyperstructure of vomit-colored office hallways whilst slowly losing your sanity and your plane of reference to the isolation and silence and the maddening sound of fluorescent lamps is cool.
Then they brought out the uh... scuffed balloon animal monster that's covered in dry tar and I saw that walk cycle and I could not help but to start audibly laughing. Maybe it's because I'm in too deep on the whole 3D thing.
>the strangeness and jankiness is what makes it scary
I mean... okay.

Okay, now only people born earlier than 1990 reply.

I was born before that. This kind of thing they are making does not interest or appeal to me.

Surrealist "liminal" horror is to 3D what pixel art is to gamedevs; overcrowded with indies and rarely realized to their full potential. Still, if it gives people a passion to be creative, I think it's a net good.

yeah, it tries to be creepy but it just comes across as goofy.

I don't say this often, but he's basically a genius. Even if he didn't do it all himself. It's not perfect, but it's the best execution of this backrooms/liminal space horror premise. I might be biased though since a loosely formed version of the concept of liminal spaces has been in my mind my whole life due to spending a lot of time passing through or being in eerily expansive enclosed man-made environments that I couldn't fully comprehend as a child.

Yep, his first backrooms video is a horror classic no matter what the contrarians will say. Scared me more than hollywood movie crap and it had some nice Silent Hill 4 vibes at moments. He also made all of the music and sound design, at only 17. Can't wait to see the movie.

I like it, but that Kane bloke went down some story based shit, I prefer the more surreal environments ala:
https://youtu.be/Wu2h5oP8G5w
https://youtu.be/hjkv-MLLXzs
And that main Twig monster is such a shit design, I hate that it got so prominent. It looks like when you got bored during school and unraveled and wrapped 2 paperclips around each other and it just floats around with no sense of weight but in a way that doesn't seem meaningful.
I really like to see dreamscapes brought into video like this, though art like that is hard to actually search for. And if it's popular it gets drowned out with slop.

Better than modern industry horror, and better than those shitty 'surreal' Blender channels that just make popular media in 3D but with a dark twist without any substance.
Like Hobo Bobo Funny show is some good 3D shit. Give me surreal shitposts with actual soul like that, that's what I live for.
