Been using the cgpeers dl of Maya 2018 (AKA when Maya peaked ITT the ultimate version of Maya, Maya 2018 is all you need) for years on end now, simplewalled all the crappola ways it tries to phone home, uninstalled the desktop app the picosecond after installation ended.
Zero issues. Zero popups. Zero notifications. Zero online checks. This is it, I can see myself using this version of Maya till the very last vertex I ever push. It's just that good and reliable.
