You can turn you current machine into an air-gapped machine by pulling the network plug.
If you're paranoid, get an SSD and build an dual-boot system with one OS that doesn't have network capabilities.
There is no need to have a separate machine for that.

yeah i probably will just to learn it. t bh i don't really know how much comp i need because i know so little about it. i could probably just get away with using fusion and resolve because all i do is a little cc and denoise on AOVs, add a little glow here or there, but not knowing nuke makes me think i might be missing out.
