Why is Blender so hated here?

Anonymous No. 947601

as a favor to those that would be capable of greatness if only someone provoked them hard enough to try the best fucking tools.

some people are so incredibly lost in self-doubt that they will settle for mediocrity instead of taking a leap of faith and relearning UI's, shortcuts etc.

they just want to be done with the search and so they settle for a lie, ironically never getting anywhere because of it.

also all the world is AI /sim and you are all programmed to love and defend it. cum at me, robots.

Anonymous No. 947602

it's easily accessible to everyone, which means that idiots download it and don't read the manual and then waste time asking about how to use it. if you paid for a program the thought is you would at least take the time to understand it instead of being a retard (like blendlets)

1. It has genuine weaknesses and strengths like most other programs, but some people who use it like to pretend it's the best thing in the world.
2. Its community has the highest concentration of idiots due to how easy it is for someone to get their hands on it.
3. Some anons don't understand how some people can actually enjoy 3dcg, and hence don't understand why someone would use freeware over something that can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.
4. Some anons are just old and don't understand that Blender is significantly better than it used to be.
5. It's popular and we're on a website full of contrarians.

because the ui is so fucking bad and un intuitive. the buttons are all too small and unlabeled

Room temperature average IQ.
They couldn't find the "make good" button.

Anonymous No. 947800

Because the extensions are written in python and are slow as fuck.
Also when you'd think they'd make it easy to scroll up and down the model. I'm not switching though cause baby duck syndrome.

my guess is faggots claim its the best at whatever but when you find out, it aint. This shit dont even have real symmetry. Texture painting is a nightmare cause the cursor doesnt follow its form. This fuckin thing doesnt even have in-betweens, just a shitty fuckin driver setup system

Anonymous No. 947868

It ain't industry standard, but for basic 3D modeling with its hotkeys it is really fast at what it does. Using Goz for zbrush I'm always faster than coworkers using a blender and zbrush workflow. Just use the fucking tools to get the job done, people cry to much, work is work money is money, don't like it use something else.

I hate it because I know CAD and blender's entire workflow and method of modeling just feels shit for hard surface in comparison.
Also hate hotkey-focused UI, makes it impossible for beginners to learn by experimenting. All important/commonly used features should be in a toolbar, panel, or ribbon, logically organized and with clear labels/icons. Everything else should be in dropdowns and context menus, 2 layers deep at most. It's good software design 101, literally every other software in every other field does this. Blender feels like it's trying to actively prevent new people from learning it and forcing them to watch 4 hours of shitty tutorials just to get the absolute basics of something you could figure out by playing with menus in 10 minutes in CAD

Not really, it's just that retards get filtered out.

They just like Autodesk bloatware and dislike helping people getting into 3d modeling, also afraid of getting competition that doesn't blow all of their earned money into a monopoly that hasn't been able to add anything better than the plug-ins made by the community in the last decade, just like people that buy sports games every year to get the exact same game.

Most of them pirate 3ds/Maya because at least they're not so dumb they will pay for it, but noone thinks the pricetags are worth it, not even them.

Anonymous No. 948478

If hearing it from mild-mannered industry veterans is anything to go by, they don't hate it, they just aren't expected to use it nor have the time nor good enough reason to switch to it. They got their hands full with learning proprietary programs for months or their however many applications in their workflow blinded by hundreds special boy plugins, so the studio produces the gourmet goyslop as the higher ups decree... and then maybe Unreal 5 for that rockstar cred.

The oh so awesome Blender community that's touted as a plus like it's software tech is what's not their cup of tea. Too buggy and frustrating like a bad case of coil whine. Please understand. When they're not having ambivalent hate sex with the riggers or vice-versa, the industry sages must tend to their fussy padawans who try to solicit MLM scams by backwards cap wearing, sterling silver chain sporting, clickbait bukakke..ing youtubers shilling their latest boolean shitflow. They have enough fatigue from juniors to endure Blend anons chimping out because they were told creases are no substitute for edge loops, quad only in any context, or angirly refusing to show wireframe because IT'S A STATIC PROP THAT WON'T DEFORM ANYWAY REEEEEEEEEEEE.

Please understand that one follygon is more than enough, yet feel fortunate the Blender army lives another day far from achieving that level of shabbos goy leperchaun dancing on the grave of Zbrush.

Because the people hating it were thought to use Zbrush and have paid for Zbrush. And then there is blender, which is free. And more user friendly.

golems being system maintainers. You see you gotta keep the money in a circle. Autodesk > Schools > AAA studios. They will do anything to spread lies and misinformation about a freebie that threatens with reforming the old ways.

Now tell the Blender developers to fix the problems they are refusing to fix. No one is going to use Blender if they broke something during update and never again fix it.

Normal 3D software work like expected, Blender doesn't work because the developers are awful at their job.

Random fact about Eevee. Did you know that Ambient Occlusion is Eevee means Screen Space Ambient Occlusion?
https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/4.0/render/eevee/render_settings/ambient_occlusion.html
That's right. SSAO. Do you remember that GPU-based gimmick that mas discovered in 2002 and then slowly abandoned because it made everything looked like... well... Eevee.
Did you know that Blender 2.7 had real Ambient Occlusion in the internal render?
Do they plan to ever fix the regression known as Eevee?

Sculpting is crap compared to ZBrush. Wise up, you cheap little bitch.

Anonymous No. 949380

It's way past the point where you have to ask yourself how can you not hate on Blender.
It's not a usable product in a usable state. Its community is a liability. Ton has a personal cello player:
https://youtu.be/UzYBZfkEJrA?t=385
who encourages young people to "solve the puzze of topology" in the worst possible way, wasting their time, effort and potential talent.

Anonymous No. 949383

Maybe 3D is just a hobby for you like it is for me, but even then, don't get caught in the circus of depression and all the wretched people who orbit around it.

If you live in a 3rd world country, you're not going to solve your money issues by making furry porn in Blender. Blender is not going to make your parents proud of you.

On the other hand, the more you use it, the more nonsense tutorials you watch, the more you become like a misfit of nature. One that people would pay money to buy a ticket to see.

Like the cello guy. I would pay $3.50 to ask him a question and marvel at how twisted and out of touch with any kind of reality his answer would be.

They should sell tickets to visit the Blender Foundation and have show nights with animals and trained jannies from this board who would perform for free.

I want to admire the quality of the Ambient Occlusion in Eevee. And you need a video card for this. This is the power of the GPU and Blender.

Meanwhile on Blender 2.79, CPU only and about the same rendering time you can get a correct picture.

So my question is: when the Blender developers are going to fix the regression known as Eevee?

Amateur wise:
Because most people who never got their hands on a 3D software and then start using it are suddenly a pro artist.
Many of them go at you with high ego claiming they are full self taught as if it was an advantage.
Crashes too much while using certain tools.
They criticize Autodesk users for paying big amounts of money for a software that "can do the same".
Blender is so praised by its own community most get fooled into thinking Blender is the best tool for everything 3D wise, including sculpting (Zbrush is better for sculpting).

Professional wise:
Blender cannot respect a constant date before releasing new versions, its also a cocktail of plugins done by different programmers, which can create chaos on an industry where a team of artists are required to work under a same version.

Anonymous No. 949398

You don't get it, do you? If you reduce the Distance to try to hide the problem, all you get is a dirt effect, not real Ambient Occlusion.
