I don't think so. There is a lot of bad rigging in video games. Which goes to show that the people doing it generally pretty bad at it. Being good at rigging is respectable. I mean, these studios go through all this trouble scanning, and modelling to the highest degree. Capturing a shit-ton of detail. Only to slap a basic as fuck rig on it, that makes the otherwise find model look all robotic and uncanny. It's fucking sad.

Try to bear the cringey dialogue and focus on the face.

Junior rigging can be bitch work. but the bitchest job in the pipeline is compositing where you are at the mercy of everyone else, rigging only needs to talk between modeling and animation.
Also rigging on the other hand is better paid and gets considerably better as you become senior compared to animation, modelling, concept, lighting and FX.
Rigging overall enjoys more demand and pay, just be a good communicator and not insufferable faggot, don't cripple yourself by being over reliant with other people scripts to avoid the junior black hole and enjoy coding.

I failed my 2nd year in a prestigious 3D course because of rigging. Yes.
