Spent like one week reading elemental magic, then did a few attempts in pencil2D of a flag, I wanted to like draw the berserk famous cape opening, but I had to settle first for the infamous flag exercise.

Need a bit more of practice, but spent a day practicing in 2D and this morning I woke up and worked some translation to a 3D animation, using shapekeys.

Pretty happy with this, but pretty sure I need a few more attempts.
It's crazy how much I learned just with this basic exercise.

Pretty happy with it how it looks 2D and doesn't look like It was made by a 3D tool.

and you can't run physics cloth simulations on 2D game engines as well.
