Hey, I'm looking to upgrade from my GTX 1660 super.
I'm not really that into playing video games anymore so I'm honestly looking to go for a Quadro card to focus more on gamedev/ animations/ video rendering/ AI etc etc.
Is it worth going for a Quadro card instead of an RTX 4070Ti?
What specs would you guys recommend me if I'm going to render stuff at 1080p. I've never bought Quadro cards before so help me out.

>Is it worth going for a Quadro card instead of an RTX 4070Ti?
no. you could have just typed your question into youtube and gotten 20 different "what are quadro cards actually used for" explanation videos. or you could have asked in QTDDTOT - instead you shit up the board more.

you don't need to spend a lot of money for 3d and your graphics card as is can handle gigantic meshes both in zbrush (sculpting) and 3ds max (hard-surface).

to sum this thread up:
>anon completely ignores etiquette
>anon is too dumb or lazy to literally just type his question into youtube
>anon comically overestimates both his interest in a new hobby he clearly hasn't learned anything about yet and is eager to spend thousands without even having actually run into a bottleneck.
>all this even though anon names half a dozen different things he allegedly wants to do, every single one of them being an entire career on their own

conclusion: 100% ngmi.
don't even buy a 4070,either, you would just use it for minecraft RTX.

But I wanna make blender animations and video renders at 1080p. Wouldn't a quadro card be better?

Quadro cards no longer exist, Nvidia ditched the name ages ago. Workstation cards are a waste of money for what you're trying to do.

Don't even think about buying one unless you a) do this shit for a living, and b), know exactly what you need it for.

Either get a 4090 or a used 3090.
Nvidia is intentionally gatekeeping productivity by limiting vram.

I had a quadro card but I had to throw it away since they don't come with HDMI

Those video cards come with a mortgage on your house for essentially nothing in return.

Wait until November, new gen releases and buy old gen cheap

Dont get a 3080, outdated tech trash with no vram

Quadro is specifically for studios with big budgets, that if they ever run into an issue, they contact support and get a special driver delivered ASAP. For the common person it just doesn't apply, so get a Geforce RTX.

The more Vram the better, so keep an eye on the 3090 used for $600 or less, but if you want a new card and cant afford the 4090, it could be the 4070Ti, but imo its just overpriced and still has low Vram for its cost, despite having the dual encoding that makes it as fast for rendering as a 3090. The Vram limit for you will come when you either do the UV work, or you assemble big scenes, so if you want a 4070Ti, try to get it on sale if possible, and try not to make the scenes too big.
Also don't skimp on system RAM, have 64GB of it minimum, and nowadays DDR4 is dirt cheap, so there's no excuse to not have that amount, specially on a workstation. All DDR5 platforms are overpriced bullshit and not worth buying at the moment, specially with AM5 motherboards, they want almost $350 for a good X670, AIBs can go fuck themselves. Hopefully ASRock will release a B650 Taichi Lite in the future and will reduce the MSRP by $100, at least what they said on Computex, so that's an option if you still want to buy the latest stuff, I would just stick to a 5950x on AM4 since they have gone down a lot in price.
