So I got this app that is an AI assistant with an avatar that sits on the corner of the screen but I don't really like the avatars they have. You can use your own vrms there, but I have no previous experience with vrms, What is the easiest way to get into it? Do I need to rig a whole ass avatar or there's some sort of automated process that, even if the result is subpar, does it for me?

You can convert Mixamo rigs to VRM if you need the body articulation, the face animation needs to be rigged manually.
Get into VRM's tho, It's a safe bet for the next couple of years, built on GLTF.
