is there a way in maya to parent bones while keeping the offset the way it works in blender?
when i try it always creates an in between bone and thats gonna be bad for the skinning.

why would it be bad for skinning? A new feature of maya is Multi-Skin Cluster on one mesh

The method i learned is using autoweight and then adapting the weight paint manually. the in between bones would be exessive and complicate the weight painting. at least thats what i think coming from blender.
