🧵 /3/CRIBS

Anonymous No. 952815

Ladies, gentlemen and trannies, welcome to /3/cribs! Why /3/? Because I still live with my parents at 40 years old and the only way for my useless ass to have any autonomy and my own house is in a 3D program!
Watch as these NEETs show off their dreadful interior design taste in a desperate attempt to impress their equally worthless peers. Will they show off their dirty Dorito-buried sleeping quarters? Their kitchens full of instanoodles? Or the bathroom they ain't cleaned in A WHOLE 3 FUCKING MONTHS. Ah well, you know what they say: the house is a reflection of the owner!

So post your shitty 3D house or just one part of it or your mother dies in her sleep tonight!

I'm trying to buy a house and eventually want to get into interior design and visualizing redesigns and remodels better.

Is there any benefit to learning Blender for this shit or should I just stick with Photoshop and Sweet Home 3D? Would it be helpful to also have an iPhone with LiDAR to scan shit or what?

Just in general wondering if you guys do this for your own spaces and if so, how.

Nice. Your best bet is to learn sketchup and psd. Believe it or not many professional interior design studios get by wonderfully with that combination.
>ould it be helpful to also have an iPhone with LiDAR to scan shit or what?
Yes but tape measure, pencil and paper and maybe a laser tape measure will suffice for 99% of the jobs.
>Just in general wondering if you guys do this for your own spaces and if so, how.
Studied architecture but I don't work as an architect but I've always done my personal and family remodel jobs. I focus very much on finctional furniture. Its my obession.

>Studied architecture
What was this like? I have a degree in finance but kinda want to go do a master's in architecture because I don't really like banking/sales roles. I was always into/good at drawing and blender and making/designing stuff.

the chair nerd No. 955242

>>955182
>What was this like?
Pretty fun but that is because I was almost expelled twice from bullying a professor and a student. Architecture and design faculties are normally full of softies so I was the weird fish being the only one in the whole building wearing blue collar clothes.
Now if you want to study architecture because banking kills your soul I'd suggest to stick with banking so you can eat protein every day and then make architecture/design your hobby. Work is not your life and your hobby should not become your work, trust me I've learned that the hard way.

I don't have a master's in architecture but in zoning law so I don't know what you could expect but from what I've seen from my colleagues it's more fun than useful. You know. Every profession is just a taster in the academic but the real experience is gained at work, specially in architecture, i've dealt with architecture post docs that don't even know how to design a well made shed let alone make it.

Ok time for another crib I designed and made with my dad and a fucking carpenter that we ended up suing for being an imbecile and a thief.

It was a small single room 50sqm inner city apartment that my dad currently rents for air bnb.

I never make good renders for my personal projects cuz I don't have anyone to sell them to so here are some shitty previews and the final product.

Enjoy.
