I'm quite the n00b when it comes to blender and 3D modelling in general
For an early project I'm attempting to rig a model somewhat inspired by this picture here
Problem I'm having though is the deformation always looks jagged and like total ass
Is it just difficult to rig something with a body like a potato?
Or am I missing an obvious trick?

i don't blend or rig, but you've got some wonky weight painting happening by the looks of it

I used maximo to try and make it easier as my initial attempts failed miserably
And yeah the weights are all over the place

I wasn't expecting such strong reactions from the weight painting falloff

Look we will keep saying it and will always keep saying it, Blender is not a good choice ever. The only way you can get that cat in 3D with textures perfectly in line is using other software besides blender.

Everyone knows Blender is bad for sculpting so you have to use something else for sculpting. Texturing can be done by UV but Blender users hate UV, there is no avoiding it, you have to use UV.

Custom bones are needed to make it work, that also means you have to custom make how each side of the polygon moves.

All these are never going to work in Maximo or blender, please use something else instead of following dumb advice from blender community.

Weird. Auto applying the weights again fixed everything
