๐งต SSX Tricky custom level NURBS
Anonymous at Thu, 7 Sep 2023 19:53:53 UTC No. 957373
I need recommendations on a 3D modeller for my very specific needs
The video game SSX Tricky has gotten community support for custom levels. The catch is that it uses NURBS for its level geometry
Specifically nurbs that are 4X4 CV patches
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTP
I have installed about 10 different software packages looking for something to use but non of them suit my needs (missing basic tools features or are incredible painful to use).
Rhino, maya, alias, 3ds max, fusion 360 and a couple others i dont remember
It needs to be able to:
Model in nurbs
Have the nurbs be 4x4 cv patches
Be easy
Have all the tools you would expect (like extrude along spline)
Work

Thanks for the reply
Yeah i know, Maya was the one i spent the most time trying to learn and just found it very painful to use.
I was having a nicer time in 3DS max with its cage modelling and converting to nurbs
Or converting subd to nurbs in whatever program > import into maya > rebuild and stitch surfaces

They extruded the rough shape of the track, sculpted it, and sliced it into pieces.
Each of these tools has been pointed out to you already.

I'm aware of extrude along spline, i made the level in the video in the OP
When it comes to nurbs all over the internet people just point out the most basic 2 or 3 things and act like they have explained everything and you should be able to to anything now.
I know how maya works, im just asking if there is anything less shit
But people just want to let me know they they are aware of what nurbs are
