I've also had the displeasure of working with them. The way they handle armatures makes doing anything with them a pain in the ass unless you rig them to something usable and they've got the MMD problem where everything is a shapekey, even shit that has no business being a shapekey.
Most of the ones I did work with were triangulated out the box too.

About the triangulated stuff, thats pretty common with artists who just bash videogame models and props. You can notice many of these hairs for example come from ripped assets. It wouldnt be that hard to just retopo and quad them once you start working but I guess they dont care about that.
