Lets say I needed to crank out several minutes worth of animation per week, and I don't really have a solid rig for it. What's the most cost-effective solution? Blendnet and AWS? Something else?

Render.st has a 60 dollar fixed price where you can render all you want. The only catch is that it uses CPUs for rendering.

this. Google Colab + Open3D Mitsuba notebook and it allows up to 12 hours of free rendering without interuption. it will timeout after that but you can always restart.
its not user firendly though and not its not "visual" i.e: no GUI.
