>download Pokemon models
>adjust the proportions a bit
>throw them into your UE4 asset flip 'game'
>make hundreds of millions of dollars
is it really that easy /3/tards? Palworld and Lethal Company's success proves that traditional modelling fundamentals and whatever the fuck you nerds discuss is a meme.

yes it's that easy, they weren't sued. Most of us already steal from other 3D artists, but now it is becoming public knowledge. Only stupid people make stuff from scratch.

Looks more of a "copy someone's homework but change it around a bit" rather than stealing the model and shifting some things around on the original. The model looks built from scratch but heavily referenced to the point where they might have had the pokemon one on screen or in the scene to capture a similar silhouette. That or they simply arrived at the same point due to the fact that they're trying really hard to look like nu-Pokemon, since there's so much else in that game that lifts motifs from other Nintendo games.
The BOTW music/sounds is another big one. And one that doesn't really make a lot of sense in my opinion, since it worked for BOTW as a bit of a minimalist melancholy thing (since everything was destroyed), but for a happy pokemon type thing it just doesn't meld well. It's clear it's meant to be "look guys! it sounds like BOTW!" rather than something that's purpose built to be with the game and its tones.
It's clearly going after the Nintento onions-boy audience hard. Fair enough though since that's where the money is.

Its confirmed that whoever made these screenshots adjusted the palworld models themselves to fit around the pokemon models better. Also you are fucking retarded if you cant tell the wireframe is completely different.

He said that he just scaled it which is what you will need to do to compare when you are ripping models from different games which will have different sizes naturally. Otherwise it's pretty obvious the devs took model as a base

>I can resize that quadruped to fit inside that other quadruped
Nigger, you can do the same with a horse an a cat.
And you can clearly see the geometry was made differently in the "common" parts.

It is at least on the technical skill or merit side.
The other factor is viral marketing and the luck involved for the campaign to stick.
