I think the models look fantastic. Big anime eyes in 3D ought to be striking, even uncanny, because these characters are ultimately dolls and most people will inherently be drawn to their eyes one way or another. You don't have the small, soft noses that modern Japanese games use and their lips are well-defined without needing any texturing. The hair alone looks amazing, every strand is clearly visible and it doesn't look like someone used a plugin to just slap it ontop of more prefab assets. There's also no reliance on cel shading or perspective tricks to make it look more like 2D than 3D anime. Finally, there's next to no post-processing because the image is clean and crisp on its own. I'm one of the few people in the world who prefers this early Eastern CG aesthetic to what we get now primarily because everything "good" from Japan now tries to be like Advent Children, albeit with none of the beauty and all of the obvious mocap.
