so it comes to down the textures and pixelation, adding the texture warping will make it look even more retro. stick with 128 or 256x256 textures and make sure you limit the color palette with indexed colors since the ps1 couldn't handle a lot of information. the main problem with these renders are my taste just sucks and it isn't very cohesive. it looks all over the place because i didn't use references for the scene I was building. also use models without much geo which is a no brainer.

Thank you so fucking much. This is what I meant. I could make the one on the bottom and it looked ass without the pixelation or low rezo textures.

Also what about a PS1 style character anon? Do you have a wire frame or a block I could study from. I can only make the torso and arms but I'm clueless about the face boobies and ass.

there are plenty of ps1 character on youtube i havent done any ps1 styled characters tho, once again reminding that shit should look cohesive. This was the image that got me into trying the retro style. it isn't ps1 but this render looks much better than any of the shit i did. it is easy to make psx renders but you need that eye for composition and colors to make it really stand out.

I didn't understand the question, making what exactly? the stuff i have said should apply to renders as well as unity, unreal or godot regardless.

there's no such thing as a "ps1 model" its just low poly rendered at a low resolution.

there are certain limitations and quirks for ps1 models. go play some ps1 games and look at their arms and legs for example

Separated meshes? That was an artificial limitation. You could do proper bone deformation in ps1, just look at ffix or other late psx games

Brother if you couldn't intuit those you may be too far gone. In the meantime, keep your eyes open and look at things.
