Sorry if im being a newfag, but why arent there commission threads and things of the like? I feel like I can click on a thread and see quality posters, while itll take me a long ass time of scrolling through twitter or whatever else to even find one artist I like. I enjoy most weeby Oekaki styles because they tend to be pretty sketchy and (most of the time) pretty cheap as well. But I can never find the people who draw those things like the image in the op.
TLDR, why is there no commission thread, and can I find someone who does work in this style. Be ok with drawing boys and stuff and preferably pretty fast but I don't sweat speed.

> why is there no commission thread
I can't speak for the whole board, but I find the lack or request/commission threads to be a good thing. That way, the focus is on making fun doodles rather than having the entire board clogged with requests and advertisements. You can see what letting requesters take over does to the draw threads in other boards.

I could go on and on and on about all the reasons you're wrong in great detail. But instead I will just post: /i/ is an image board is for posting quality drawings freely. Pay-gating requests for quality images to private third party commissions would mean less images posted here on this board. 4chan is the website you are posting on, here is some information about that website.

Never looked. I only visit specific threads on trash and A, like 3-4 max, and theres no real artist in there, so I havent seen requesters destroy threads yet. Ill take your word though.

I understand, i just think peoples time should be worth something. Like I said above, I don't frequent request threads on my own boards, much less here. And I think peoples time should be worth something, so im kinda at a lost when requests for stuff can actually get quality.

You need to understand. When someone fulfills a request it was not for the poster who made the request, it was for EVERYBODY on the board to benefit from. More often than not more than one person wanted to see the drawing made, and even more often then that the artists enjoyed making it and sharing their joy with everybody else on the board. It truly a blessing to share this board with so many kind hearted generous people, I can't help but want to draw my heart out for everybody all the time, but I find my own drawings are only good when it was also something I wanted to see drawn.

While I agree that an artist's time does have value, I also think that there are spaces where money has no place. Money changes the dynamics, incentives, and entire atmosphere of anything it becomes entangled in, websites are no exception. I enjoy /i/ because it is so lighthearted and not obsessed with perceived standards like /ic/ is. Throwing money in the mix could potentially turn it into yet another breeding ground of mad competition, full of people trying to game the system.

Damn, I get it now. Now I feel kinda bad for trying to throw money at this place, even if I do think some of you all deserve it. But I get the spirit of things here. Maybe ill try my luck in one of the request threads and maybe try IC for commissions. If this really is one of the few places here that can stay like this, I don't want to be the one to ruin it by wanting to throw money at it. Have a good day!

True, but I kind of expect some level of that with 4chan as a whole. Bots are everywhere, memes are anti-funny, culture warriors have colonized much of the website, etc. To me, /i/ and its flavor of drama and discord is still much lower than the drama and discord on other boards and much more bearable/easy to ignore.

And if they agree they will be shilling commissions elsewhere. What they post here they've drawn for fun and hobby.
