Hi anons. I storytimed this comic in /co before, and now I'm going to do it here.
Oi! Tales of Bardic Fury is a comic I started in 2013, took a 6 year break from after finishing volume 1, and then started again in 2019, and have been drawing ever since. The comic is set in Iron Age Ireland and is about bards, druids and ancient idols. The story starts with a bard named Bryan who gets sent to a village by the sea called Oi that never heard music before. Without further ado, here's volume 1.

first page of chapter 5

He's a mad lad and one of the most popular characters. The next arc after volume one is more aideen and rhiannon focused. After I finish that I'm planning on making the next arc belong to Servius

Next up, the winter solstice special. There was a 6 year gap between me drawing chapter 5 and chapter 6. I dumbly signed the rights of my comic away to a tiny indie publisher who did nothing with it. The publisher was a dick and threatened to never give the rights back and bury it forever when I tried to negotiate for them back. Eventually I was able to negotiate the full rights back and get full ownership of the IP again. The characters stuck with me for years and I spent a lot of time thinking of where I wanted the story to go. Around summer 2019 I finally had time to start working on it again. The Winter Solstice special is 60 pages and sets the stage for Volume 2. I'll start storytiming it in a bit.

Love the comic so far, have only read the first chapter because I'm slow. Just a heads up, bump limit is 300, image limit is 500, and the archive is only 3 days. What happens when you have posted everything?

thanks anon. Volume 1 has about 24 pages to go. Do you think I should wait for this thread to die and archive and start a new one for Volume 2 when I get to it? What's the proper /i etiquette?

A hard question to answer. I personally have many conflicting opinions about everything. Only time will tell what the correct course of action was. /i/ is home to a lot of different types of threads. Typically it takes a long time for a thread to expire. You do the drawing, I'll do the reading, and the rest will work itself out.

The writing is all over the place tonally. Most of the time it's a farce, and then suddenly it tries to be a romantic drama, and while we are in the middle of an unearned sexual dream sequence with the main character, we are also establishing a villain who decapitates children. You have main characters doing drug and having casual sex with slaves, while the big stakes in the story are whether or not the village children will have fun in history class. It's hard to take the premise seriously. A magical druid using his beautiful daughters to recruit a bard who will incite a peasant rebellion and overthrow evil bunny-girls in phantasy Ireland is a better comedy than a philosophical melodrama.
I like all the drawings, lots of cool settings and character art.
