i think the offender is the mid-riff being too wide

i'm officially incapacitated for a week now
had a small injury on my right big toe that wasn' healing
got infected apparently
the doctor recommended a quick surgery
the way it was explained to me he'd scrape the skin around the puncture so it could heal
motherfucker cut a v-shaped slit out of my big toe and then stitched the two ends together
from mild inconvenience to straight up not walking for a few weeks

got to take home the chunk he cut out in a sterilized sealed cup
its definitely a good conversation piece

It helps to add a bit of value in the direction of the mood you're going for in a picture rather than just using base colors. Here I added some varying red values to the colors to make Kott's palette seem warmer.

its staffed either by retired boomers who haven't caught up with the times or by failed artists who couldnt find succeed in the field so ended up as teachers

The HOD for animation sat us down and gave us a lecture o how AI is onna make technical proficiency worthless and how we should focus on storytelling now
like my animator in Disney ai cant draw hands let alone animated even a marginally stable character in multiple poses
hell most real artist struggle with pacing and keyframing

its so annoying to build up a skill and then have person in authority make a panic declaration that everything you've accomplished is useless
its all so tiresome

AI will EVENTUALLY render technical proficiency "worthless", but that day is waaaaaaaay off. meanwhile, your storytelling skills will seperate you from the rest. thankfully, all your little animations breathe soul and tell tales already. if you push that factor hard so that people who watch your animations will be thinking long after what it meant and what it said, you'll fucking make it.

the one who's grouchy is a layouts specialist who's teaching us 2d animation for some reason
i like the digital painting/concept art lectures he gave us but otherwise he isnt qualified to teach us 2d animation
then after the basic ball bounce pendulum and walk assignment`s he completely dropped teaching 2d animation
we spent the next year doing puppet rig animations which should've gone to the motion graphics guys
like i get the indian industry is saturated with shitty low budget puppet animation but cmon man
i thought the college is meant to set industry standards and push the envelope not churn out more drones for the content pits
and the college itself is saturated with blue-blood rich kids who will prolly never have to earn for themseves regardless so idk why they insist on teaching "industry relevant skills"
we were basicly given free reign for the third year as the students either hopped courses or completely stopped caring for the 2d "lectures"
as picking 2d is a an optional thing and none of the juniors so far have picked 2d im allegedly the only one who will be pursuing his fourth year for a master's degree, things are very grim
i might legitimately be the only person who even keeps the 2d course from dying out until freshers finally get suckered into it
if i ever become a good animator it will be inspite my college not due to it the only worthwhile upside of joining it was access to equipment

i will succeed, but for myself not for them
sorry for being such a downer
had to get itt outta my system

i ended up declining the freelance job
got enough on my plate aleady
from coming wednesday onwards ill begin work on my degree film

for context we had to pick a comic and discuss how we'd adapt it into a live action movie
the timid quiet guy in class no joke actually boots up his presentation and spends 15 excruciating minutes explaining the plot of redo of healer (notorious boderline rape fantasy anime) and why it deserves to be adapted rape and slavery intact
man went on an unironic tangeant about how i kid you not SJW are ruining modern media
what a fucking mad man i had to pinch myself multiple times to keep from bursting out into laughter mid presentation
the prof didnt even respond he simply moved onto the next persons ppt while the class fell into an awkward silence for the remainder of the session

apparently my paternal surnname has some funny connotations to it
turns out my paternal family most likely were atleast at some point the village watchman aka the gaurds with the wooden rods
atleast when they werent being ostracised for being untouchables

Im finally back
turns out my graphics card died
and i'd been blaming the monitor to cpu cord this whole time
the IT guy finally came in and fixd things for now
i'll be working off the base cpu settings for now while he tries to repair the graphics card
the past few days have been interesing since i was cut off from 4chan i spent quite some time sketching traditionally
was somewhat fun but i missed having the undo button at hand
