I've been dressing up as a "Neighborhood Mickey Mouse" and cleaning up the streets of Ypsilanti, MI, USA. I used to do this 5-7 years ago throughout Detroit and Highland Park, MI, USA.
I attempt to create awareness of Mickey Mouse's prolonged trademark status.
I see myself as an anarchist. I feel it's bullshit to have any sort of prolonged trademark, copyright, or patent on any creation. I do believe in recognition of source material and its derivatives.
Anyway, yeah, boutta dump a buncha crude Mickey Mouse faces I've been drawing and handing out to passerbys while cleaning the streets. I've also been handing out my Mickey faces to people who've served me (delivery drivers, servers, etc.). Fuck yeah.

I attach these two "LOST" and "WANTED" ads to the backs of my acrylic painted faces. The faces are painted onto 110lb acid-free cardstock. I spray the painting with a UV-resistant clearcoat to prolong longevity. Finally, the ads and faces are attached back-to-back to one another, and laminated to be later given out. Fuck it in yo buckets.

I wasn't able to clean up downtown Ypsi this week because my son got Covid and spread it to my wife and myself. It's suppose to be nice weather in this area between Tuesday and Thursday this week. So, Mickey shall return!

Mickey Mouse's trademark is supposed to expire this year from "Steamboat Willie."
I've been trying for years to relinquish Mickey's prolonged trademark.
These laws affect prolonged copyrights and trademarks too.
Imagine HipHop needing only to cite their sources in sampling. Imagine newer prescription drugs being generic sooner.
Laws are not real. Actions are real. Obeying laws does not mean You're an inherit good person. Slavery was legal. Women not being allowed to vote was legal.

I had dressed up as my "Neighborhood Mickey" and collected over 1,000 signatures to make marijuana legal in the state of Michigan.
At first, my petitions said that nonviolent marijuana sellers would be let free when the bill was enacted.
However, last minute and before the bill was put on the ballot, the writings were changed according to the actual vote's initial intention. People that were nonviolent drug offenders still had to serve their sentence accordingly (even while marijuana was legal in the state of Michigan).
It has only been recent that nonviolent drug offenders were allowed to have a lesser sentence. The signatures I had gathered stated that nonviolent drug offenders would have be set free with the bill being enacted.
Fuck the system. The 13th Amendment is modern slavery. Read what You sign.

I am beginning to not make as many of these Mickey faces as I once had. Or, at least, in this fashion.
I wish to minimize my carbon-footprint by not painting these faces with acrylic markers, then spraying them with aerosol cans of UV-resistant clearcoats.
Instead, I am beginning to draw my Mickey faces onto heart-shaped origamis with permanent markers. Although, I'll have empty permanent markers outta ink in the process of drawing my different Mickey faces, it's better than releasing aerosol emissions. I don't know. Fuck it in the buckets.
