I'm sorry, I made that thread and it didn't take long for me to realize the opening post was woefully deficient; recently in particular, people needed to be made aware of the issue with the discrepancy between the very popular beta client version and the stable version that's being run on the server, and I'm worried without it being present in the OP it might be overloooked.
