I've been working on some ideas and designs for the Pirate RP/game theme, because I think it'd be a fun theme to explore.

My idea for the premise is that recently in town a pirate themed card game in the vein of something like Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic the Gathering becomes really popular, as well as a tie in cartoon series really hyping up pirates for the kids who start dressing up and playing as pirates as well as playing the actual card game.

There is this one 6th grade kid named Jonesy Davis, who is infamous for having the most broken deck possible with some of the rarest cards ever printed. The kid spent all his allowance on cards, and when he ran out of that he stole his parent's credit card. Turns out his parents don't like that much, and when they decided to move out of town they forced him to get rid of all his cards and banned him from playing it anymore. After this a rumor spread that he hid his collection of super rare cards somewhere in town, which lead to a big treasure hunt for the cards, with different kids forming "crews" dedicated to finding this hidden treasure and feuding with rival crews. Basically one big buried treasure adventure but through the lens of kids being obsessed with some latest fad.

In the pic you can see Mandy holding what I imagine the cards looking like, they have this gold pirate coin design on the back which really sells the fact that they represent treasure for the kids.

Unlike the usual structure of two or three big factions against each other, I think this would would be a bit different. There would be one sort of large faction of the kids who are against the unbalanced cards going into circulation because they don't want anyone to have an unfair advantage. So they actively are working to stop anyone from finding Jonesy Davis' lost treasure. They'd represent the royal navy and privateers, anti-pirate rule followers and associates.

Then there would be the pirates, who are not a unified faction. Instead, different friend groups rally together as differing "crews" with their own gimmicks and fight each other looking for the treasure. I'll start posting some of the pirate crew designs I've come up with so far soon.

The reason the party is so offensive stacked is because teacup was his default starting companion character and she pressured him into choosing blackcat as the next party member and they both bullied him into choosing Ragdoll as their fourth and final member Danny had to learn a ton of White Mage spells.

Cindy has managed to expand her crew by recruiting some 3rd grade girls to her cause. Maybe she'll have some others in her crew as well, but for now I've just drawn these five.

The dread pirate "Mad Vandermark" Lydia is also taking the opportunity to cause some trouble. Lydia is channelling the pirate ancestor she has on her father's side which is an obscure bit of lore but its cool to be able to reference it.
With her is first mate Addison the swordswoman. They overall aren't a big crew but still manage to be one of the most feared.

"Bilgerat" Hansel the sewer pirate, has managed to find a niche in this new pirate world that suits him. Working together with his crew of rats, he has perfected a method of tricking people with powerful cards into battling him, playing the role of an inexperienced easy to beat player, and when they are distracted with their winning, the rats sneak in and steal their best cards. Hansel has become quite the successful card theif because of this, although unlike other pirates he isn't interested in the cards themselves. He trades and sells them to other buyers for food and money, sometimes selling them back to the people he stole them from. Some were surprised by how strangely savvy the usually naïve and friendly Hansel has gotten with this role, but for him this is business as usual for a street rat.

Captain Brukmaleg has wrangled up his army to take on a new role as a pirate crew. Finding these cards is a matter of pride for him, for all will have to respect him when he beats everyone he plays against, proving his superiority. As far as he sees it, it's his birth right to own those cards.

they have a very bad reputation because of their dishonorable tactic of waiting until two Pirate crews fight each other and then when they seem tired they come out and demand half both crews stuff in exchange for letting both go uncaptured Danny's in flip a coin and if it lands on heads then they leave but if it lands on tails then they seemingly leave but wait until both Crews once again fight each other for the remaining stuff and then once one is defeated they capture the one that lost all their supplies and call the Navy to ambush the other crew.

Don't confuse this tactic for weakness or cowardice they are still pretty strong there's a reason why it a better deal to give them half your stuff with the chance you might be able to leave uncaptured.

Two unexpected participants, originally the Lunaris twins started playing the game because they were interested in studying this strange earth fad. But soon they became addicted to playing it, wanting to best the game in their own way to prove their superiority to some inferior primitive earth game.

The alien siblings ended up developing different game philosophies. Rodney, who found the royal navy cards the most interesting due to how much it reminded him of his own homeworld's military that he admired so much mostly chose those cards. He also liked the idea of professional competitive games, and is therefore in support of banning overpowered cards as a form of "honor". He gets really into this warrior code which Silvia sees as juvenile. She on the other hand sees no logical reason to refrain from using the strongest cards she can obtain, so is squarely in the pirate "might makes right" side of the conflict.

The game has ended up consuming a lot of their alien minds to the point they are weirdly addicted to playing it, might be a weakness of their biology to be drawn to strategy games like this. Due to this they created new pirate/navy themed disguises so they can blend in with the other kids playing.

I feel like the fact Delly literally hurts her arms even in non dangerous situations makes her the opposite of this. Her cousin Dorothy makes more sense considering no matter how bad her heart gets she never actually dies (at least for good). She somehow survives despite all the crazy shit in town.

Another one would be Hansel, he's a little kid who can somehow survive being homeless without any parent or guardian. and on top of all that, he gets put in a lot of dangerous situations and still survives in the end and has never been properly treated by a doctor for anything. He can be fired out of a catapult, shot at by police, shoved inside a particle accelerator, but he always turns out fine.

The food was typical asian cuisine diarrhea cooked by bugmen who make actual bugs like bees look like expert cookers, who haven't even learned to cook the one thing they're suppose to be good at.
