Is it bunk placebo BS or is there something to them?
Massive amounts of people online claim they are permanently impotent because of SSRI's and that it ruins their penises despite being off the drugs for years

I don't know. I won't see a doctor who could prescribe them because I'm not paying to talk to someone crazier than me about my level of crazy. They always find out your power level. Besides, I have the internet and can read. It's not like I'm helpless.
The neurochemical action of most SSRI drugs stems from fluoride which has highly dubious health benefits.
I have found 2 herbal remedies which neatly replace antidepressants when used carefully. St. Johns' Wort for depression/melancholy and Hederagenine for low motivation or low wakefulness. Neither one have caused me any erectile dysfunction. I never exceed the recommended dosage. There is no contraindication for nicotine so I'm good there too.
Do your own research, your mileage may vary.
The medication which has caused me the worst erectile dysfunction surprisingly is Ibuprofen.

Permanently is unlikely and probably doesn't happen, these people have some other issue than ED or inability to orgasm. Although they can make you temporarily unable to reach orgasm while the drug is inhibiting the re-uptake of specific serotonin receptors. Other SSRIs don't have this effect oddly enough. Bupropion might block your ability to orgasm while Mirtazapine will not.
If it does somehow manage this permanently then you have bigger issues with your neurotransmitters, perhaps some genetic defect preventing the absorption or pathway of specific neurotransmitters.

semi permanent
ssris are antagonists that block the pathways of your brain, causing more permanent side effects like low libido and brain zaps.
other drugs are agonists which have abuse potential

My penis has always been treacherous. However, Paxil probably did fuck up something about my emotional salience. Or rather pushed it into a different state of fuckedupness, which seemed like progress at the time, but in hindsight it may have been very bad.

How long have you been on Paxil and what dose?
How is your dick now?

I was on it for like a month a long time ago.
>how is your dick
It works but it's people-shy if you get what I mean.

But do you think just being on Paxil caused any damage to it or your libido?

It's certainly possible. I wouldn't recommend it. I tried other SSRIs too around that time but that one had the worst side effects.

Psychotropic drugs, such as SSRIs, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotics, can lead to morphological changes and atrophy in the brain, which may often become permanent. Additionally, these drugs can systematically influence the entirety of the body.
The primary effects experienced from these drugs often include apathy, emotional bluntness, and an amplified placebo response. They are not anti anything. they will ruin your life in ways you will not even be able to imagine nor comprehend.
