Would you be willing to go on the first maned trip to a terrestrial body in our solar system if you weren't guaranteed to make it back, but if you made it back you would be one of the most famous humans of all time? And which would you prefer? Mars? Ceres? Mercury? Titan? Eris?

Would I spin a slot machine if it meant winning a fortune, with a small chance of losing all of my life savings?

Nope. I don't get people who want to be the first to die on Mars or whatever. Does anyone remember the names of Christopher Columbus' shipmates? No. You're Christopher Columbus' shipmate, not Christopher Columbus. No one's remembering you. It's all going to be about Elon Musk or whoever helms the project. Space explorer wannabes are delusional.

My life is completely and utterly meaningless, and it's not even enjoyable, so why not?
