I'm currently learning pure math and as things get more abstract I get stumbled in my mind, when am I supposed to imagine in my head and intuit the definitions and theorems I'm reading about and when to ignore it, for example when deriving a very complicated formula it is obviously almost unimaginable.
So my questions is the more abstract are the concepts, can one really make sense of them and not get lost in a space of useless abstractions and overcomplicated ideas?
