🗑️ 🧵 serious - Academic history disclosure
Anonymous at Sat, 9 Mar 2024 23:57:03 UTC No. 16065733
I'm posting this again after trying another board 'cause I need more thoughts before I made a decision.
Made it into an out-of-state college but didn’t spill about my academic past. Had a rough semester before—dropped a class, got an X and two Fs cause I just couldn’t stand it. Now, I’m seeing stuff about the National Student Clearinghouse and hearing tales on Reddit about students getting busted for hiding their history, even years later. How real is this? how likely is it to happen?
the school is ranked within top 100 in U.S. so I don't want to lose it but I know this comes with downside in my case.

I know it might be unfear but I really didn't put any effort in my previous school. like, nothing. I even decided to leave it midsemester.

It depends if you are a demonrat/angel of color or a republichud. The new world is hostile to magats and that means like trump, you will be fairly persecuted for crimes nobody else is.

I wouldn't do anything until you talk to someone who knows. You should probably relax first of all. People make mistakes and they want your money. It's also a big administration and they have lots of things to keep track of, including people who are actually scamming the system.
If there's another university nearby, call or go to the registrar's office there and act like you're a student there. Explain your situation (or your "friend's") situation and see how they react. Try to get an off the record inside perspective on what your admin would actually do if they found out and if they even cared.
As far as I know the only reason this shit matters is for transcript purposes. I routinely falsified my transcripts in minor ways if I felt it was convenient. What are they gonna do, hire a private investigator to see if I'm lying about some transfer credit?
