Atoms are very real.
The problem is that we've wasted MANY DECADES "teaching" the bohr's model and applying antiquated modes of thinking to atomic structure rather than just moving on to real understanding.

Late is better than never and societal changes to fundemental ways of thinking are always slow to change, evolutionarilly speaking it could be disasterous to make a major blunder.

Sabine helps, she was always for it but never too far beyond her ability to verify, being she is basically the opposite of an actual Theoretical Physicist, she is an Instrumentalist.

Actual T.Physicist aims lightyears away and hits it, even it takes a lifetime of aiming. Instrumentalist makes countless small measures from known values and slowly expands known knowns.

She never steps outside her boundry and she knowns it, thats how she is able to bark at Weinstein and he cant say too much back.
