I get great scores on the homework but get horrible scores on tests and I don't understand why. I review the material, do the problems, and then when the test comes up I don't know what to do. If I am cheating myself then I have no idea how to study properly, what am I supposed to do? It's not a lack of effort either but this is a pattern that keeps happening to me.

I always thought this was incredible cope until calc 2

it doesn't get better just never check your gpa

How can you be that retarded? I do worse on the homework but I cram for tests like 2-3 days before and I get 90s and 80s. And this is past intro courses like fucking Calc 2 for christ sake. Ive made the provosts list twice doing the way I did it, the only 'secret' I can give is that you definetly study right before the test that way its fresh in your mind. And its not like I get good sleep either.

I have low IQ, please be nice for something I have no control over, maybe the issue is that there aren't enough practice problems or I'm just actually dumb. If I had an expert tutor living with me 24/7 or the professor gave us practice tests I think I would do better, but at this rate I'm going to be a loser if nothing changes.

I'm not even going to pass the class again this is my second time taking discrete mathematics, idk what the fuck im doing wrong or if there's something wrong with me, at this rate i'm not sure if it's possible in any kind of way.

Because you cheat on your homeworks. Of course your mental gymnastic convince yourself otherwise.
I guarantee if you try to do those homework problems in test condition, you'll not able to solve any of them.

Well another issue is that I have no idea what's going to be on the tests, it's a shit ton of chapters. For example my next test is in 53 days and I have 21 sections, which basically means I have 2 and a half days to learn each section combined with my trigonometry class and I'm not sure that's not enough time for me to learn it. I have also tried doing what you did but I guess it still wasn't enough for me, my last exam there were some problems that I did very well but a lot of them I did absolute shit on, so if I had an unlimited amount of practice problems that I can do it like on a test then it would help but we only get 1 problem and that's it we can't do any more problems.

You got an answer for everything, don't you, OP? Imagine shitposting on 4chan and thinking you don't have enough time to do problems.
Here's a genius idea, stop shitposting and study.

cant you just pirate other textbooks and do their practice problems for the chapters

esp for trig

This is only an American thing, retard. In europe, the average score in a math test is 40%, so a failing grade

Just pirate a bunch of books and grind problems then. I always read some textbook next to the lecture since most lecturers are terrible

But it has to be very similar problems and not just random ones and that's difficult to find, if only one of you high IQ geniuses lived with me you would teach me everything and then I would do well on tests, oh well :/

i know that sounds like i’m bragging but honestly, i’ve spent the best part of eight years utterly dedicated to science and improving my capability for scientific work. everything, from the hobbies i did to the lifestyle i carefully designed, was based around becoming good at what i do. one of the biggest aspects disillusioning me is that people who used to mock me for my spartan approach to science are doing just as well, but not because of their actual skills. they’re either women, minorities, or just very good at bullshitting or speaking loudly. i’m guilty of this myself, i confess - a few months ago I gave a talk on basic nonequilibrium physics, but spoke very confidently and used techniques from famous orators to outline my points. the guy next to me give an extremely impressive and technical talk on quantum chemistry, but was awkward and ugly. guess who won the conference talk prize? I did. Whenever I see that prize certificate I think about that poor fucker who laboured on operator calculus and algebraic geometry for months only for some bitch larping about transport coefficients to win. the prize came with a £50 amazon voucher too. imagine studying advanced mathematics for an hour every day for three years and having your hard work rewarded with a fucking amazon voucher!

i remember learing every single thing, doing my every homework twice, and than going to the test and find only questions that i was unable to understand or even read.
i hated it any only ever bearly passed.

This right here is why you do poorly. You don’t understand the material well enough to do any old problem on the topic, you only understand the material well enough to do a few particular problems (probably because those are the ones you looked up the solutions for)

No, you didn't.
>doing my every homework twice
No, you didn't.
False memories, anon. Your brain couldn't deal with the fact you wasted your life on irrelevant things. So it made up shit.

Ok? When I was in college there was an abundance of tests from previous years photographed or copied. You know what type of questions were on it, you can construct your own and imposed the same rules that are during the test on yourself while doing them.
