They'll readily sacrifice themselves for the group with absolutely no sense of self preservation. It's genuinely scary. They're basically the Borg. If they were the size of rats humanity would be utterly fucked. We'd stand 0 chance against a hive mind the size of rats. We're "good" at teamwork but we're all selfish in the end. Millions upon millions of individuals sacrificing without a second thought. That's insanely strong.
