Kinda makes sense, confining your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacking within only 8 hours out of 24 hour day sounds pretty intensive to the body.

It's not like they're eating salad, fish and nuts in that period of time. They're probably way more calorie dense foods like double cheese burgers and fried chicken.

good for weight loss, bad for some of your organs. a well balanced, high protein, high fiber, high nutrition, low calorie diet is both easy to lose weight on and not terrible for your organs.

he did intermittent fasting for a year or so together with going to the gym
he lost a ton of weight in a year
now he just eats normally but keeps an eye on how much he eats
seems to work well for him

Just don't do it permanently and quit after you've reached your target weight and it should be okay (or slowly build back up to a normal diet)

There's some merit that it's not entirely healthy. You "should" be eating during the entirety of the day. Limiting yourself in time is artificial and will naturally generate stress for the body.

I did this nearly all my adult life. Not because I wanted to but because it's the way I live. I wake up go to work or do whatever eat lunch at 12.30, eat dinner at 6 or 6.30. That's it. Even on weekends I only eat breakfast at around 11 or 12.

I get that people might want to eat before going to work but I'm not hungry in the morning. But I make sure to grab a double cheesy now on my way to work. Fuck these kikes pushing stupid propaganda. I do what I want.

It works well for a short while before you quickly hit a peak where your weight loss slows down dramatically, but the hunger pangs remain the same.
