feasible or greentard cope?

Cope. Can't put enough containers on that ship to make it worthwhile. Competition will eat your lunch.

>take sails
>cut into 3 equal parts
>decrease size, make out of something durable like metal
>place in the water
>spin with engine
With this technique you can have all the benefits of wind power without the limitations.

It is feasible. The question is if the economic incentive is enough for companies to buy in

What if you still use diesel, but these sails cut costs by 50% because they really help in windy days?
>>16090509
The incentive is WEF forcing you to do this.

50%?
I think we are looking at a benefit of MAYBE 3%.

The incentive is saving on fuel cost, maintenance, etc.
If someone's buying a new ship and want to save cost on fuel over the next 30 years, the company building will optimize for cost savings

Those sails are made to be installed on existing ships.

Turns out it is somewhere in the middle. Michelin claims it saves 20% on fuel.

Greenies consist mainly of women, male students, and liberals. Women are just bored, ignorant and just seeking validation from their friends, male students just tag along hoping to get pussy from greenie women students, liberals are motivated by an anti-capitalist political agenda rather than an environmental one. None of these groups understand economics or science. None of them actually care that much about the environment. They are mostly motivated by peer pressure. They are fickle and easy to manipulate.
And that explains this bullshit. These ships sole purpose is to placate the greenies, give them good vibes, so hopefully they will move along onto the next fad or recycle an old one. The simple fact these hybrid cargo ships are economically unfeasible as pointed out here

But they do a good job of being "green" poster pin ups, just so the greenies shut up and the normies can gaze upon them and think something is being done, ignoring the fact that 99.9999% of all shipping will remain conventional.
If in some alternative Universe ALL shipping was to be a hybrid design then the same greenies would all be squealing in distress over how expensive imported goods had become.
And I say all this as a Greenie myself, but one thing I detest is the hypocritical and fucking ignorant nature of most Greenies. They are like cultists and can not be reasoned with, only manipulated.

It's cope. Won't fit into most ports and provides negligible economic savings (otherwise it would already be extremely popular with shipping companies, DUH.)
