How do you guys deal with the humiliation of having a public brainlet moment? One of the older postdocs at work told me my project got scooped and showed me a paper that did something similar to what our PI told me to do, so I brought it up on Slack and then my boss was like
>uh no anon, this is actually different from our concept, your project is fine
So I feel a bit better because I wasn't scooped but now I feel humiliated. I've only been at this job for less than a month so at least he'll probably chock it up to being new to the field but it also feels bad because it was the last thing that happened before the weekend...
