After seeing Lucy (movie) i'm really interested about what would happen if humans started using more than 10% of their brain. Obviously not as science fiction like making other people hover in the air, but maybe control your own metabolism? Would that be possible if you would suddenly become aware of the 'unaware' part of your brain that controls food process and so on?

I hypothesize that a typical person is, in fact, using close to 100% of their brain every moment. I propose an experiment which has the possibility to disprove my hypothesis: remove some small amount of a person's brain, say 10%, and observe their mental function.
If the typical moron is only using 10% of his brain to begin with, it's unlikely that we will accidentally scoop out the 10% he happens to be using. If we do, we can repeat the experiment several times until we have determined what parts of the brain are necessary and what parts are not.
If, however, my hypothesis is correct, then upon the removal of any significant percentage of the brain, particularly from the frontal lobe, the test subject would be reduced to the level of mental function shown by Mr. CoP.
I welcome alternative theories that could explain the mismatch between the amount of the brain that a person can "tap into" and the amount that is necessary for proper life functions.
