Because right now this technology is only useful for people paralyzed from the neck down. If you can use your hands then a mouse and keyboard are far greater tools than this technology at the present state.

When it gets good enough to be a compelling option for normal people, then normal people will start to get excited.

Because right now what it's done isn't especially immediately impressive. Things like this have existed for a while, they were just big and bulky. So far it's basically just miniaturized existing technology. While Neuralink is already doing significant things, it's not doing things that will really get eyes on it. Taking certain extremely niche technologies that almost no one ever interacted with and making them smaller, more standardized, and not bespoke isn't very exciting to most people.
When Neuralink starts restoring senses and limb movement that's when it'll really get people talking about it.

Elon Musk is a grifter. He has never invented anything, except ways of promoting himself, and ways to extract more money from his rubes.

Neurolink is made up of actual scientists that were already working on this, but the bulk of the information to do this was already done by others, and was funded by the government.

Space X is a government contractor, and is made up of actual engineers who had already been working on reusable airframes. His clients are all either states, meaning your tax money, or they are other monopolists. He even has gotten in on the orbital monopoly himself with Starlink, never being one to pass up an opportunity to form a dependence he can exploit.

Tesla was an established company that Elon bought, then, by exploiting labor, government regulations, and making it so you never actually own your car, made a company that gets most of its money off selling carbon credits, and is in the process of creating even more network effect systems so that he can make more monopolies and monopsonies so that he can extort even more.

He built his career stealing what others have made in order to make monopolies that create dependence that he then extorts.

Anonymous No. 16097963

it's an incremental improvement over +30 years old technology.
It simply allows cripples to move a cursor on a screen with their brain, it does nothing of what elon claims it does.

btw the cripple's brain and eye coordination does 99% of the work. the chip just reads brain signals coming from the motor cortex, it doesn't read his thoughts. the person has to learn to associate certain brain activity with desired action. it's like learning how to walk

Anonymous No. 16097984

Elon is the master of inventing stuff that already exists. Also, he is quite economic on the exact details of his success, and so far, it is nothing that hasn't been shown before.

It's a red herring. Misdirect. Neuralink is 1950's tech. By the 1970's they no longer surgical implants. Everyone is so far behind on the real state of science that they engage with this garbage they float in the public sphere for all the typical reasons.

See Jose Delgado, WR Adey, MKULTRA Subproject 119, Project Pandora, Synthetic telepathy / sympathetic magic / entrainment / EEG autocorrelation / patterned ELF / heterodyning tech. Again, literally, 1970's tech they're now cluing you in on it. They don't need implants. They haven't needed them for decades. And even if they did they can just grow them in you.

Elon Musk is basically a puiblic face made to laugh at you. His "Boring Company" is laughing at you for focusing on him rather than the company he keeps, who unlike him, is not almost unnaturally boring. Elon? He's a boring guy. Also tunneling boring tech is old too btw.

It's impossible to get ahead of this stuff. I lay it out over and over and over and they just won't get it. It's fuckin' weird. But there ya go. They're making you afraid they're going to put chips in you when they haven't needed that for remote sensing or brain activity entrainment for a long time. The type of biofeedback they might want otherwise, they could just inject or have you inhale shit that would go through RF guided self assembly in your body. Genetically modified microorganisms, shewanella, yeasts, whatever. Shits old. Old old old. And when they do it they're not going to ask for your opinion, either. Cause they already did it.

Nice, what does the mechanical structure of airplanes have to do with propulsively landing rockets though?
>His clients are all either states, meaning your tax money, or they are other monopolist
No, SpaceX has a number of private contracts, you can easily google this.
>Tesla was an established company that Elon bought
No they weren't, they didn't even have a prototype for their first production vehicle before Elon bought the company.
>made a company that gets most of its money off selling carbon credits
Tesla made ~96 Billion in total revenue as of 2023. 1.76 billion of that total was in regulatory credits, meaning about %2 of their total revenue was generated through regulatory credits. You can easily check this yourself.
>He built his career stealing what others have made in order to make monopolies that create dependence that he then extort
None of Musk's businesses are monopolies in any definitional sense. Every industry he has a foot in has a number of competing firms.

You are asserting "free agents" and true separation where there is none. The world behaves more like an organism, or a simple ecology at its most atomized, not a bunch of particles moving around in a field. It takes a lot of extreme destruction and a very deliberate effort to degrade it into behaving otherwise. You would have to try to return the world to a bose-einstein condensate to get it to behave in the divided manner you're asserting. IT simply doesn't do that, it's not the way the human concept and the universe is designed.

This is not tangential trivia, nor is it functionally irrelevant. It is absolutely fundamental.
